[0:00–0:21 — FIRST PASS / WATCH YOUR HEAD] Colossians two, eight through ten. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: [Start almost like a warning caught on somebody’s phone: dry close male tenor, vinyl dust, room noise, fingers tapping a table and one dark chopped Rhodes note. No drums. “Beware” gets its own space. Deliver “philosophy and vain deceit” rhythmically but casually—not angry preaching. Let “and not after Christ” fall completely dry.] [0:22–1:00 — SECOND PASS / BOOM BAP GETS MEANER] Colossians chapter two, verses eight through ten. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: [Drop a grimy boom-bap pocket: chunky kick, cracked snare slightly behind the beat, thick bass, chopped soul-Rhodes and little vinyl pops. More urban than smooth.] [LEAD] Beware lest any man spoil you. [ROUGH OFF-MIC VOICE] Beware. Through philosophy— [SNARE] And vain deceit. [ONE LOW VOICE] Vain deceit. After the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world— [Gradually filter the sample thinner and cheaper, as though the surrounding ideas are losing substance.] And not after Christ. [EVERYTHING STOPS] [Leave raw room noise.] For in him dwelleth— [Kick returns alone.] All the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [FULL BOOM-BAP POCKET SLAMS BACK.] [ROUGH CREW — INVOLUNTARY REACTION] Ooh! [FIRST PSYCHEDELIC MICROBURST: Rhodes suddenly reverses and blooms outward for half a second, then collapses back into dusty mono.] [1:01–1:34 — INTERLUDE / COMPLETE] Yeah. Ooh. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [Let the bass get nasty here. Chopped Rhodes, hard snare, shoe scuffs and somebody tapping the table.] And ye are— [BEAT CUT] Complete in him. [ONE ROUGH VOICE] Complete. [Do NOT turn it into a repeated hook.] [ACOUSTIC MICROBURST: two unexpectedly clean acoustic notes answer “complete in him,” then disappear immediately.] Which is the head of all principality and power. [Let “principality and power” get a quick low-to-high melodic run, still rough around the edges.] [PSYCHEDELIC MICROBURST: chop the final consonant of “power” into a tiny tape fragment, throw it backward once, then kill it.] [1:35–2:18 — THIRD PASS / NOTHING MISSING] The epistle of Paul the apostle to the Colossians, chapter two, verses eight through ten. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: [Third pass gets the hardest head-nod pocket of the track. Keep it dirty. Snare late, bass warm and thick, Rhodes badly chopped in the best possible way.] [LEAD] Beware lest any man spoil you. [ONE GUY ACROSS THE ROOM] Beware. [LEAD] And not after Christ. [MICRO-SILENCE] For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [Let “ALL THE FULNESS” climb slightly while the bass descends underneath it.] And ye are— [REMOVE EVERYTHING EXCEPT FINGERS TAPPING THE TABLE] Complete in him. [ROUGH CREW — ONE PUNCH ONLY] COMPLETE IN HIM! [One voice hits “complete” early. Another is raspy. Somebody gives a little “yeah” afterward. Keep it.] Which is the head of all principality and power. [SECOND ACOUSTIC MICROBURST: one fast ascending acoustic lick flashes immediately after “power,” then disappears.] [OUTRO / HEAD-NOD DECLARATION] Ooh. Yeah. [No more lyric repetition. Let the instrumental ride: chunky kick, late cracked snare, thick walking bass, dusty chopped Rhodes, vinyl crackle, shoe scuffs, table percussion and muted guitar scratches.] [One psychedelic accident: the soul chop suddenly reverses while the drums continue forward.] [Someone off mic reacts with a quiet laugh.] [Beat keeps going.] [Hard cut mid-snare.] [OVERALL VOCAL DIRECTION] [The architecture is BEWARE → FALSE SYSTEMS → NOT AFTER CHRIST → FULNESS → COMPLETE → AUTHORITY. Make the first section suspicious and stripped; Christ should immediately restore sonic weight. “FOR IN HIM DWELLETH ALL THE FULNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY” is the doctrinal center. “COMPLETE IN HIM” is the emotional payoff, but say it sparingly. Male tenor sounds like a naturally musical guy rhythmically delivering Scripture with friends—not a polished CCM vocalist pretending to rap. Dry, grainy, loose, slightly cocky, imperfect. Crew is 3–5 church friends around one cheap mic: cracked responses, late timing, raw]
